- Admission Requirements for Masters in Early Childhood Education
Applicants are required to possess a minimum five (5) O’ level credits passes including mathematics and English language in addition to any of the following:
- Possession of first or second class honours degree in Early Childhood Education from University of Benin or any other university approved by the Senate of University of Benin
- Any Bachelor’s degree not below third class from a recognized University in addition to a Postgraduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education (PGECE)
- Possession of third class honours degree in Early Childhood Education and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)
- Higher National Diploma (H.N.D) with upper credit in addition to a Postgraduate Diploma in Technical Education or Post Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
- Any other qualifications acceptable to the Senate of the University of Benin
Programme Duration
The M.Ed. (full-time) programme shall run for a minimum of twelve (12) calendar months and a maximum of twenty four (24) calendar months.
6. Graduation Requirements
To graduate, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Pass all the required core courses offered in both semesters;
- Pass one course respectively from the electives in both semesters.
- Successfully complete and defend the written research project.
- Earn at least a total of 40 credits.
The grading system is as follows;
