- POST-GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN TECHNICAL EDUCATION (PGDTED)
The Post-Graduate Diploma in Technical Education is expected to cater for the need of individuals who have high technical qualification and wish to be professionally trained as teachers of technical and vocational education. This programme is run on a full time and part time basis.
Objectives:
(i) To update the competence of teachers of technical subjects who are deficient in professional teacher education.
(ii) To expose student-teachers to the theory and practice of education.
(iii) To prepare students who intend to proceed to further studies in various disciplines of education.
Admission Requirements:
The entry requirement for the Post-Graduate Diploma in Technical education shall be:
- H N D. in any relevant discipline obtained from any recognized institution or any other institution approved by the University Senate.
- A degree in technical subject obtained from a recognized University.

- Teaching Practice (12 Weeks)
- Research Project.
EXAMINATION REGULATIONS’ FOR POST-GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN TECHNICAL EDUCATION
To qualify for the award of the Post-Graduate Diploma in Technical Education a candidate must pass all the required courses and accumulate a minimum total of 30 credit hours. The Pass Mark is 50%.
- ALL PDGTED candidates must pass the practical teaching test.
- ALL PGDTED must pass the Research Project.
- Any candidate who fails courses at the end of the Semester Examinations may be allowed to carry over the courses to the next session.
- All University Regulations guiding – Post-Graduate Examinations apply to PGDTED Examination
